2022 has been a difficult year for me – both personally and professionally – and I know I’m not the only one. We all came out of the pandemic expecting a better year, but with war in Europe, the cost of living crisis and the climate emergency (and that is just a few of the challenges!) all bearing down on us, it’s certainly felt that times are tougher than ever before.
So, when coming up with the theme for our final issue of 2022, I believed the only thing we could do was counteract all of the doom and gloom. Volume 14 represents Joy. A positive way through all of the difficulties is by searching for those little pockets of joy.
Here is our new cover…
Joy can be found in various forms and is different for everyone, but I firmly believe that our environment and the spaces around us can deliver whatever it is that makes your heart sing. It’s a space for personal expression and where you can surround yourself in things that make you feel good; the colours, the textures, the patterns, the art and photographs, the objects collected over time.
In this issue, we feature interiors from people who have imbued joyfulness into their spaces in their own personal way and we explore other aspects of the concept – such as the joy of giving, the joy of sharing and how to create a joyful home.
Whatever you are facing in your life right now, I hope that taking some time out for yourself with the magazine is a source of joyfulness for you. A little luxury that allows you to escape for a while, curled up with a cuppa, absorbing the beautiful images and the stories of like-minded, creative people.
Volume 14 is now available for pre-order and will be dispatched to you in early October shortly after it publishes. It can also be purchased as a 2-issue subscription.
Here’s a peek at just a small selection of images from Volume 14….
My print run is very much dictated by the number of pre-orders we receive – now more than ever. In the past, I would have been able to work it out going on previous issue sales, but with how things are, it is no longer possible to do that. If you are able to pre-order, it really helps to ensure we don’t overprint and avoid wastage.
