More than ever, living our lives in tune with nature is not only beneficial to us, but it is important for our environment too. For so long, people were (and some still are) obsessed with consumerism and manmade goods for filling our homes, often with way too much ‘stuff’ than is even necessary. As our awareness shifts to acknowledge the damage this approach is doing, it’s clear that working with nature to create beautiful and comfortable homes is the way forward.
This lovely new book, A Home for all Seasons, by 91 contributor Kay Prestney and photographer Becca Cherry, focusses heavily on this, and shares their simple manifesto on how to live and thrive in your home alongside nature.
The book is broken down into four seasonal sections – spring, summer, autumn and winter – with each featuring real homes, and highlighting great ideas, styling tips and colour advice, as well as stories from the home owners themselves.Â
Being inspired by seasonal changes in your home means small, subtle updates keeps things fresh, allowing your home to be a constant source of joy. It is not a case of following trends and changing the core aesthetic of your home, but adjusting and rotating things like fabrics, lighting and displays to reflect the outdoors and changes in temperature and your families needs.
The book is a visual treat filled with gorgeous photography and spaces that will bring plenty of inspiration to your own seasonal home.
