As an editor, one of the most exciting things for me as we put the magazine together, is when the images from our photoshoots arrive in my inbox. After all the research, planning and logistics of setting up the shoots, it’s lovely to see the results, and swoon at the beautiful images our photographers have captured. It’s often hard to do the edit, and select the images which will actually appear on our pages, and there’s usually a few great shots that we just don’t have space for. We recently shared a few ‘cutting room floor’ images from our home tours (see that post here), but today we are giving you a little peek at some of our other faves from the S/S issue, that we wish we had more magazine pages for…
This is a beautiful portrait by Joanne Crawford from our shoot at Sian Zeng‘s studio – how spectacular is that work in progress?
Katharine Peachey did a wonderful job shooting independent store O’Dells for us, and we loved hearing from owner Tom about running an indie business in the creative east end of London.
Up to Bristol, and to the beautiful creative space, The Forge. Owner Silke Lloyd shot the images for this glorious feature, and they couldn’t be more dreamy; one of which became our cover image. This alternative shot is also a beauty.
Our cook and craft feature by Melanie Barnes captured the versatility of homegrown produce, and this shot is almost like a ‘beetroot portrait’ – highlighting its raw natural beauty. The light is just stunning.
Finally, the three shoots from our ‘Room Refresh’ in collaboration with Anthropologie each blew our minds in very different ways. The homes of Lou Archell, Katy Orme and Jeska Hearne all showed us how to simply update a space with minimal effort – we literally bow to their styling and photography talents!
If you haven’t had a chance to order your copy of the S/S issue yet, then don’t delay as our stock is running low already! We ship internationally direct from the website, or you can check out our list of UK and European stockists here.
