VOLUME 12

In Volume 12 our loose theme is PRE-LOVED. We love interiors with a narrative – a grand story of a building’s former life, or small stories of a precious items found during a memorable trip. In this issue we celebrate spaces that embrace imperfection, the time-worn, believing that the past can always have a place in our future.

Furnishing and styling our homes with secondhand items is one way we can reduce our impact on our planet too, as it suffers under the strain of mass consumerism. This issue provides inspiration on bringing life back to old spaces and demonstrating how to bring narrative and character to your interior with second hand finds. With so many eras to choose from, there is something for everyone and the featured spaces offer a variety of styles to glean ideas from.

From a renovated French chateau to a one bed apartment in south east London, a studio in an old bakery to a neighbourhood store in Oklahoma, the idea of pre-loved is interpreted in many different ways. We share some great sources to purchase vintage goods and even resurrect some pudding recipes from the past!

VOLUME 13

In Volume 13 our loose theme is SIMPLIFY. In recent years, our lives have all been affected in significant ways. Not only have we experienced a global pandemic but we are also living with and grappling with the effects of climate change.

For many, these enormous events and occurrences have made us reevaluate how we live our lives, and more often than not, they have highlighted what is important. For me, the word ‘simplicity’ kept filtering into my thought processes – not only have I felt compelled to simplify my home and my belongings, but I became more aware of the simple things in life. Appreciation for simple pleasures, which in turn brings a sense of contentment to the every day.

This issue celebrates ideas around simplicity and simple living. It is not about stark, minimal spaces, but homes and creative spaces where the owner has been considered and thoughtful about design and styling and what is important to them. We hear from creative business owners whose ethos is anchored in a simple way of life, creating and selling objects that have provenance, providing joy through functionality, beauty and meaning.
